Now I can’t take any credit for this gorgeous creation but I just had to share it. One of my best friend’s is a whizz with her crochet hook and has made all sorts of lovely things for her home and two little girls. We did a quick evening course together once on crochet where all I succeeded in making was something that resembled a worm (thankfully I’ve improved a little since then), whilst Alex had whipped up a whole pot holder and when she told me she wanted to make a lampshade I knew she’d pull it off. It’s taken her a little while but I’m sure you’ll all agree that it looks fabulous. The lamp base was painted to give it a new lease of life and the shade makes it a real statement piece. Old wooden standard lamps seem to be quite easy to find and pick up cheaply in auctions and once revamped can be a great way to add a different type of lighting into a room scheme.
